Affliction and Hope

“The work God wants to accomplish is not going to take place while you sit here reading. It’s going to take place when the pressure of impossibility rests upon your shoulders. God specializes in things we think are totally impossible. But being a Gentleman, He won’t grab them out of your hands if you insist on holding on to them.” “Three Steps Forward Two Steps Back,” Chuck Swindoll.

Craving Righteousness

“First, a citizen of heaven is described as “one who thirsts.” That phrase signifies those who “hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).” Those who will be redeemed and enter heaven are those who are dissatisfied with their hopeless, lost condition and crave God’s righteousness with every part of their being . . . the promise is that their thirst will be satisfied. God will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost (Isaiah 55:1-2).” John MacArthur, “Because The Time Is Near.”
